Noida: A 26-year-old man died after a speeding truck crushed him on Dadri-Bisahda Road in the Jarcha area on Saturday. The victim, Dharmendra, was returning to his village after delivering lunch to his father at a workshop when the accident occurred.The truck involved in the accident was seized, but the driver fled the spot, an officer said.The incident occurred around 12 pm, when Dharmendra was walking home from his father’s workshop. Police said the speeding truck approaching from behind rammed into him. The impact was so severe that Dharmendra was run over, leading to his death on the spot.Soon after the accident, villagers blocked the Dadri-Bisahda Road in protest. They alleged that such accidents have become frequent on this route due to negligent driving by heavy vehicles. The protesters demanded strict action against violators and better traffic regulation to prevent further loss of life.Police from Jarcha station reached the spot and persuaded the villagers to lift the road blockade and restore normal traffic movement.In an official statement, police confirmed that the accident involved a truck bearing the registration number RJ 32 GC 6088. The victim’s body was sent for autopsy after completing necessary legal formalities.Police added that further legal proceedings are under way, and efforts are being made to ensure strict action in the case, an officer said.
